four combustion chambers and four pistons. If a single chamber starts decreasing power rather than increasing it, it will affect the entire engine performance.

One of the most common ways an engine can lose power is with back pressure. When the exhaust valve opens at the start of each stroke, the piston will push the gases through the cylinders. If there is any resistance where the piston has to force the gases out, then power is wasted. This problem can be eliminated by using two valves instead of one.

Headers and exhaust pipes are the easiest way to reduce back pressure in the manifold. A typical stock car will only have one manifold, but a header will provide each chamber with its own exit pipe. Each of these pipes lead to a larger pipe known as a colreader. The pipes Need To Be So They cut and bent flow dog at the Same level of pressure.
